The artist fills the cracks in the tile with paint of various colors, borrowing this method from the builders’ practice of grouting ceramic tiles. This domestic renovation procedure becomes an artistic gesture through which the tile surfaces covered with countless colored lines begin to remind one of various maps of imaginary cities, where subway lines, intersections, water supply systems and interweaving streets form a complex urban web. To continue the metaphor of destruction arising from the process of creating the works, the city on the tile maps looks like the impact of civilization on a once homogeneous territory.
